Gaza city: UN Secretary-General spokesperson Farhan Haq announced that more than 140,000 people were affected after heavy rains flooded over 200 displacement sites in the Gaza Strip. He emphasized the urgent need to lift restrictions on the entry of humanitarian aid and to remove the ban on the operations of the UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA).
According to Jordan News Agency, UN Children's Fund (UNICEF) spokesperson in Palestine, Jonathan Crickx, highlighted the critical need for increased aid to Gaza. He called for more deliveries of clothing and tents and urged the international community to mobilize support to address the worsening humanitarian situation.
These statements came in the wake of reports that 14 people, including six children, lost their lives due to the extreme cold. Additionally, more than 15 homes in various parts of Gaza City collapsed as a result of the heavy rains.
