UAE Launches $545 Million Hyperscale Data Center Project with Microsoft as Key Client

Dubai: The United Arab Emirates on Tuesday announced the launch of a hyperscale data center project worth AED 2 billion ($545 million), aimed at boosting the country’s digital infrastructure.

According to Jordan News Agency, telecom provider du stated during Dubai’s AI Week that the data center’s capacity will expand gradually in multiple phases. Global tech giant Microsoft will be the primary beneficiary, using a portion of the center’s capacity to power its cloud services.

Dubai Crown Prince Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum mentioned that the new center will enhance the UAE’s advanced digital infrastructure. This move is expected to reinforce the country’s position as a leader in adopting cutting-edge technologies and digital services.
