Abu dhabi: The United Arab Emirates strongly condemned renewed Iranian drone and missile strikes targeting civilian sites on Monday, warning that it reserves the right to respond to the "treacherous terrorist attacks." In a statement released via the Emirates News Agency (WAM), the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said the latest barrage wounded three Indian nationals and represented a direct threat to national security and territorial integrity. The ministry described the escalation as a flagrant violation of international law and the United Nations Charter.
According to Jordan News Agency, the UAE Ministry of Defense reported that air defenses intercepted 12 ballistic missiles, three cruise missiles, and four drones on Monday alone. Military data shows a sharp increase in hostilities since February, with a cumulative total of 549 ballistic missiles, 29 cruise missiles, and 2,260 drones launched against the country.
The human cost of the campaign has risen to 227 injuries among various nationalities. The death toll includes 10 civilians and three martyrs, two Emirati nationals and one Moroccan civilian contractor serving with the UAE Armed Forces.
The UAE held Iran fully responsible for the consequences of the strikes and called for an immediate cessation of all hostilities, emphasizing that the deliberate targeting of civilians and non-military infrastructure is condemned by all legal and humanitarian standards.
