Transport Minister Engages with ICAO Audit Team on Aviation Compliance

Amman: Minister of Transport Nidal Katamine on Sunday met with the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) international audit team, accompanied by Captain Daifallah Farajat, Chairman of the Board of Commissioners and CEO of the Civil Aviation Regulatory Commission (CARC), along with representatives from relevant aviation sector bodies.

According to Jordan News Agency, the meeting concentrated on assessing Jordan's readiness and compliance with air safety standards and airport security requirements. The discussions included reviewing procedures to ensure ongoing adherence to international civil aviation regulations and mechanisms to address findings and follow-up reports issued by international bodies.

Katamine emphasized Jordan's commitment to fully complying with international regulations and operating in accordance with globally approved standards. He highlighted that safety and security are top priorities for all aviation facilities and airports, aiming to enhance the reliability and efficiency of the Kingdom's air transport system.

He further stated that as a founding member of ICAO, Jordan takes the organization's observations and recommendations seriously. The country is actively working to integrate these insights into ongoing executive and development measures, in collaboration with relevant authorities, to improve performance and bolster safety and security.

ICAO, a specialized United Nations agency, is tasked with setting global standards for international civil aviation, with the objective of ensuring safety, security, efficiency, and sustainability in air transport worldwide.
