Amman: The Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD) reported that the latest radar images show the presence of thunderstorm cells currently affecting the governorates of Amman, Balqa, Jerash, Ajloun, and the northern part of Ma’an, with heavy rainfall accompanied by thunder in some areas.
According to Jordan News Agency, the JMD urged citizens to exercise caution, especially while driving on wet roads, and to avoid flood-prone areas. It also advised people to stay updated with information provided by the JMD.
The JMD’s report, issued early Saturday, indicated that by late tonight, the eastern parts of the Kingdom and parts of the central and northern areas will be affected by atmospheric instability, which will continue until Sunday. The weather will be characterized by increasing cloud cover at various altitudes, with scattered rain showers, which may be heavy at times, accompanied by thunder and hail. This will lead to the formation of floods, especially in the eastern areas. Winds will be light and come from the southeast.
