Munich: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and Expatriate Affairs, Ayman Safadi, engaged in extensive discussions with several delegations, foreign ministers, and officials at the 61st Munich Security Conference, addressing bilateral relations and regional developments.
According to Jordan News Agency, Safadi’s discussions at the conference were centered around establishing a ceasefire in Gaza and facilitating the immediate delivery of humanitarian aid throughout the region. He highlighted the potential to rebuild Gaza without displacing its residents, aligning with Egypt’s comprehensive plan backed by Arab support.
Safadi reiterated Jordan’s commitment to supporting Palestinian rights and emphasized that the creation of an independent Palestinian state is crucial for achieving regional peace and stability. The conversation also touched upon the situation in Syria, where Safadi advocated for supporting the Syrian people in rebuilding efforts that ensure security, stability, and sovereignty while promoting the voluntary return of refugees.
During the conference, Safadi met with Austrian Chancellor Alexander Schallenberg, Irish Deputy Prime Minister Simon Harris, Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, and Japanese Foreign Minister Takeshi Iwaya, among others. These meetings focused on enhancing bilateral relations and exploring cooperation in various fields.
Furthermore, Safadi engaged with officials such as German Minister Svenja Schulze, former U.S. Congressman Ted Deutch, German State Minister Niels Annen, British National Security Adviser Jonathan Powell, and U.S. Senator Chris Van Hollen, discussing strategic partnerships and international collaboration.
