Amman:Social Development Minister Wafaa Bani Mustafa and Turkish Ambassador Hakan Karaçay met to discuss cooperation in social services and protection.
According to Jordan News Agency, Bani Mustafa outlined ministry programs aimed at enhancing Jordan's social protection system and improving service delivery. She emphasized ongoing efforts and a memorandum of understanding with Türkiye's Ministry of Family and Social Services, signed during an Arab conference in Amman last year.
The memorandum facilitates collaboration and expertise exchange in areas such as family protection, services for women, children, and the elderly, and support for persons with disabilities. Bani Mustafa suggested exchanging experiences and best practices in developing social services, family protection, and disability services.
The meeting also considered collaboration through the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation, specifically the Standing Committee for Economic and Commercial Cooperation (COMCEC), focusing on economic empowerment, poverty reduction, and livelihoods. The Turkish ambassador expressed interest in broadening cooperation with Jordan in shared social and development sectors.
