Amman:Senate President Faisal Fayez and Turkish Ambassador to Jordan Hakan Karaçay met in Amman on Monday to discuss bilateral relations and regional developments. The discussions centered on enhancing economic cooperation, boosting investment, and coordinating on regional issues.
According to Jordan News Agency, Fayez emphasized Jordan's commitment to strengthening ties with Türkiye and maintaining consultation on mutual concerns. He highlighted the need to expand economic cooperation, develop investment partnerships, and activate existing bilateral agreements across various sectors.
The meeting also covered regional developments. Fayez referenced King Abdullah II's address to the United Nations General Assembly, where the King highlighted the war crimes committed by the Israeli occupation in the West Bank and Gaza Strip. He noted that the issues in the West Bank are inseparable from those in Gaza, pointing to settler violence, land seizures, and settlement expansion as acts of war crimes and forced displacement.
Fayez reaffirmed Jordan's stance against Iranian attacks on the Kingdom and Gulf Arab states, stating that Jordan would not become a battleground for regional conflicts. He also condemned Houthi attacks on Saudi Arabia.
Turkish Ambassador Karaçay expressed his country's commitment to strengthening relations with Jordan in various fields and continuing coordination on regional issues to support security and stability. He praised King Abdullah II's role in regional security and emphasized the importance of economic and investment partnerships and activating bilateral agreements.
