Amman: Senate President Faisal Fayez met on Monday with Xavier Castellanos Mosquera, Undersecretary General for National Society Development and Coordination at the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC), to discuss the humanitarian role of the societies in supporting people affected by conflicts and wars.
According to Jordan News Agency, the meeting reviewed ways to enhance joint cooperation to address humanitarian conditions, particularly in Gaza, Sudan, and other conflict zones. Fayez praised the IFRC in assisting those impacted by conflicts and disasters.
Castellanos, for his part, commended Jordan's role as a logistical hub for delivering humanitarian aid to Gaza, where humanitarian conditions continue to deteriorate. He also noted Jordan's cooperation with the Jordan Red Crescent and the International Committee of the Red Cross to boost humanitarian action and ensure aid reaches beneficiaries.
