Saudi Arabia, Kazakhstan Discuss Cooperation in Environment, Water, and Agriculture

The President of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, has stressed the strong relations between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Kazakhstan and the importance of boosting cooperation ties between the two countries in environment, water, and agriculture.

This statement came during the Kazakh President’s meeting with the Saudi Minister of Environment, Water, and Agriculture, Engineer Abdulrahman bin Abdulmohsen Al-Fadhli in Astana yesterday, who is visiting Kazakhstan leading a high-level delegation of the environment, water, and agriculture sector in the Kingdom. The two sides discussed strengthening cooperation and reviewed key environmental, water, and agriculture opportunities.

During the meeting, Minister Al-Fadhli conveyed the greetings of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and HRH Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, and their wishes to the President and people of Kazakhstan for further progress and prosperity, while President Tokayev conveyed his greetings and appreciation to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, HRH the Crown Prince, and the Saudi Government and people.

Minister Al-Fadhli also met, on the sidelines of his visit to Kazakhstan, the Minister of Agriculture, Yerbol Karashukeev, the Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources, Zulfiya Suleimenova, the Director General of the Islamic Organization for Food Security, Yerlan Baidaulet, and several companies specializing in food security. During these meetings, they discussed aspects of bilateral cooperation, opportunities to enhance integration and trade exchange of agricultural products, environment, water, and food security.
