South Korean Prime Minister Han Duck-soo, who is currently visiting the Czech Republic, met with his Czechian counterpart Petr Fiala to discuss ways to strengthen cooperation between the two countries.
During the meeting, Han expressed appreciation for the bilateral exchanges between the two countries in various areas, since the upgrade of bilateral relations to a strategic partnership in 2015, noting that the volume of trade between the two parties recorded USD 4.2 billion last year.
The South Korean Prime Minister also hoped to strengthen cooperation with the Czech Republic in the nuclear, hydrogen, high-speed rail and arms industry sectors.
For his part, Czech Prime Minister said that he is looking forward to more investment from South Korean companies, adding that both countries should work together to expand cooperation in high-tech industrial areas such as high-speed railways, nuclear power and hydrogen.
The sides stressed the need for international solidarity for the restoration and reconstruction of Ukraine’s peace.
Han also met with Czech Senate leader Milos Vesterchel, and requested the Czech Parliament to make efforts to expand trade exchanges.
