Amman: Ramadan cannon will be fired during the holy month from Amman's Al Nakheel Square in Ras Al Ain area, Greater Amman Municipality (GAM) announced.
According to Jordan News Agency, the firing tradition, which is a prominent feature of Amman's life during the holy month, is implemented in cooperation with the Jordanian Armed Forces (JAF) - Arab Army.
In a statement Tuesday, the municipality's spokesperson, Dr. Nasser Rahamneh, said all arrangements and preparations have been completed at the designated site.
He added this initiative, which aims to revive Amman's "long-standing" tradition of Ramadan cannon, is used to announce the time for breaking the fast.
