Amman: Minister of Culture Mustafa Rawashdeh met with Yemen Ambassador to Jordan, Jalal Ibrahim Faqira, at the Royal Cultural Center to discuss ways to enhance cultural relations between the two countries.
According to Jordan News Agency, both sides praised the existing bilateral ties and expressed their shared commitment to further developing them, particularly in the cultural sector. The discussion highlighted the rich history of Yemeni civilization, emphasizing its thousands of years of human and civilizational heritage, as well as its traditional architecture and historical legacy.
The meeting focused on exploring mechanisms to strengthen cultural cooperation, including the renewal of the cultural cooperation agreement between Jordan and Yemen. They discussed expanding Yemeni participation in cultural events in Jordan, such as the Jerash Festival of Culture and Arts and the Amman International Book Fair. The talks also included organizing exhibitions for handicrafts and heritage to introduce Yemeni cultural heritage and promote mutual cultural exchange.
Both parties reaffirmed the importance of ongoing coordination and cooperation to serve the cultural interests of both nations and to strengthen the presence of Arabic culture and its civilizational values.
