Rain, cold conditions to continue on Thursday

Chilly weather permeating the Kingdom is forecast to persist on Thursday, with clouds at low altitudes and a chance for scattered showers at the northern and central regions, the Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD) said in its daily update.

The weather department warned of slippery roads in the areas experiencing rain, low-visibility during rainfall due to dust formation in badia areas and fog formation in mountainous areas.

On Friday and Saturday, a slight rise in temperatures is expected but similar cold weather will continue to prevail in most parts of the Kingdom, the JMD added.

The highs in Amman and other highlands across Jordan today will range between 14 and 12 degrees Celsius, dropping at night to 6C or even 3C in the southern highlands. In the Gulf city of Aqaba, it will be warmer with mercury reaching a high of 24C and a low of 16C.
