Doha: In their editorials Wednesday, Qatari newspapers focused on the State of Qatar’s efforts to support the steadfastness of the Palestinian people in the face of Israeli aggression, praising its call for the necessity of coordinating international humanitarian efforts to aid the Palestinian people. This effort runs parallel with Qatar’s serious endeavors to halt the aggression through an agreement that allows for the exchange of prisoners and detainees and ensures the entry of aid.
The newspapers highlighted the State of Qatar’s support for every international effort in favor of the Palestinian people in Gaza and its positive participation in international efforts to end the Palestinian crisis, noting that HE Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani’s participation in a conference entitled “Call for Action: Urgent Humanitarian Response for Gaza,” held yesterday in Jordan, reaffirms Qatar’s support for all forms of cooperation and international effo
rts to end the war on Gaza and to coordinate a unified response to the humanitarian situation in the Strip, in collaboration with international partners.
Under the headline “Qatar… Vital Support to Stop War and Address Humanitarian Crisis,” Al-Sharq newspaper said in its editorial that HE Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs’ participation in the international, which was held in the Dead Sea region in Jordan at the joint invitation of HM King Abdullah II Ibn Al Hussein of the sisterly Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, and HE President of the sisterly Arab Republic of Egypt Abdel Fattah Al Sisi, and HE UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, comes within the framework of the State of Qatar’s ongoing and vital efforts to support the brotherly Palestinian people on all political, economic, and humanitarian levels.
The newspaper explained that this international conference aims to enhance collective response to address the difficult humanitarian situation in Gaza, as HE the Prime Minister and Minister of
Foreign Affairs affirmed Qatar’s support for all forms of cooperation and international efforts to end the war on Gaza and to coordinate a unified response to the humanitarian situation in the Strip. HE also expressed gratitude and appreciation to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and the international partners for all efforts to address the humanitarian disaster in Gaza caused by the ongoing Israeli aggression for more than eight months, resulting in tens of thousands of martyrs, as well as the massive destruction of a large part of the Strip, leading to the repeated displacement of the majority of the 2.4 million residents. Additionally, the occupation forces have used hunger as a weapon against the residents by closing the crossings to aid convoys.
Al-Sharq concluded its editorial by saying that the State of Qatar, which spares no effort in supporting the brotherly Palestinian people and fully supports them during the difficult humanitarian conditions they are currently facing, has sent about 100 planes of
aid to Gaza so far. Besides its significant humanitarian role, Qatar is playing a vital and main role in the joint mediation framework to stop the war.
Meanwhile, Al-Raya daily underlined that from the very first moments of the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip, which has been ongoing for over eight months, the State of Qatar was among the first countries to implement urgent humanitarian interventions for its brothers in Gaza to support their steadfastness in the face of the aggression. Qatar also called for the necessity of coordinating international humanitarian efforts to aid the afflicted people along with its serious efforts to stop the aggression by reaching an agreement that allows for the exchange of prisoners and detainees and ensures the entry of aid.
In its editorial titled “Qatar Supports Humanitarian Response for Gaza,” the newspaper referred to HE Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs’ participation in the conference, which held at the joint invitation of King of Jordan, President
of Egypt, and the UN Secretary-General, noting that the conference was aimed at enhancing the collective response to address the difficult humanitarian situation in Gaza.
In conclusion, Al-Raya emphasized that the State of Qatar will continue to strongly participate in every diplomatic and humanitarian effort to support the steadfastness of the brotherly Palestinian people, and will use every platform to remind the world of the justice of the Palestinian cause and to expose the brutal crimes of the occupation, not only in Gaza but in all the occupied Palestinian territories.
