In its editorial, Al-Raya daily said that with the first anniversary of Operation Al-Aqsa Flood tomorrow, Gaza has become uninhabitable under the Israeli military’s destructive machinery during the genocidal war waged by the Israeli entity. The war has so far resulted in the martyrdom of more than 41,000 Palestinians and the destruction of most of the infrastructure, including hospitals, mosques, schools, roads, and homes, causing mass forced displacement multiple times amid a suffocating siege, starvation, and thirst, as well as dividing the Strip into north and south.
The newspaper added that over the past year, the Palestinian cause has come to the forefront of the international stage, with growing global support for the Palestinian people and their rights. Before this war, Israel had already turned Gaza into the world’s largest prison, besieging it for 18 years. With the start of the Operation Al-Aqsa Flood, the bloody war forced nearly two million people in Gaza to flee multiple times under tragic and c
atastrophic circumstances.
Al-Raya concluded by saying that despite all these massacres and violations, Operation Al-Aqsa Flood thwarted Israel’s project to eliminate the Palestinian cause and marked significant achievements for the Palestinian resistance, which broke the arrogance of the occupation.
Meanwhile, Al-Arab newspaper highlighted the State of Qatar’s celebration of World Teachers’ Day, organized by the Ministry of Education and Higher Education on Sunday. The celebration will honor several teachers for their significant contributions to the field of education. The world has been celebrating World Teachers’ Day since 1994, an international day marked annually to commemorate the anniversary of the adoption of the 1966 ILO/UNESCO Recommendation concerning the Status of Teachers.
The paper noted that the State of Qatar’s celebration of this occasion reflects its recognition of teachers and the teaching profession, appreciating their role in nurturing and educating future generations. This appreciati
on is demonstrated through the State’s provision of numerous facilities and benefits, making teaching one of the best among all similar professions. The Ministry of Education and Higher Education is working on various initiatives to increase the proportion of Qatari nationals in the teaching workforce across all schools in the country.
Al-Arab concluded by calling on young men and women of Qatar to consider joining the teaching profession, emphasizing that it is one of the noblest professions throughout history and that teachers are the leaders of society and builders of civilizations. They are invited to take up this sacred profession as a way of giving back to their country.
English-language newspaper The Peninsula highlighted the State of Qatar’s preparations to host the 2025 World Table Tennis Championships which will be held from May 17 to 25 at the Lusail Sports Arena, noting that it will be the second time that Qatar will host the global showpiece having staged the prestigious event back in 2004.

der the headline “Gearing Up to Host TT Worlds,” the paper said that the Qatar Table Tennis Association (QTTA) has been a major partner of the International Table Tennis (TT) Federation (ITTF) hosting premier competitions in the country regularly over the years. The 2025 Worlds are expected to be the best edition attracting a field of top-ranked players from across the globe.
