On the local front, Al-Raya newspaper said that education has always been, and will continue to be, a strategic choice for the State of Qatar, stressing that the State, which is always keen on investing in education through building long-term educational partnerships and strategies, places much hope on our students, who have a great opportunity to give back to Qatar and contribute to its development.

Al-Raya also noted that preparations for the new academic year 2024/2025 in public schools are progressing well, adding that schools are preparing to welcome more than 131,000 students on September 1st in 215 schools and 64 public kindergartens, including 70 integration schools, as well as 7 Al-Hidaya Special Needs Schools.

The newspaper emphasized that the Ministry of Education and Higher Education is committed to developing the educational process, as it is constantly reviewing and updating the entire educational system, focusing primarily on students, adding that Qatar aims for its students to be lifelong le
arners, equipped with knowledge, and characterized by flexibility, passion, curiosity, and creativity.

Al-Raya concluded by noting that the Ministry of Education and Higher Education is launching several projects and initiatives aimed at honing and developing students’ cognitive, cultural, and social skills, and equipping them with 21st-century skills to succeed in their academic and professional lives, pointing out that Qatar believes in the role of the next generation in continuing the comprehensive development by providing them with quality education, knowledge, and good morals to build the Qatar of tomorrow.

In turn, the Peninsula newspaper said in its editorial that the State of Qatar is ready for the new academic year 2024-25 as government and private schools, higher educational institutions have made all necessary arrangements to welcome back students in a healthy environment.

It noted the statements of the Director of the Department of Schools and Student Affairs of the Ministry of Education and Hi
gher Education Mariam Al Nisf Al Buainain who said that the ministry is ready to welcome the students after it has finalized all preparations to commence the new academic year next Sunday, stressing that the ministry is steadfastly committed to offering a high quality educational atmosphere through advancing all fundamental components of education, including the pedagogical cadres, infrastructure and educational sources in coordination with relevant bodies to ensure the accomplishment of all preparations.

The newspaper also noted that Mowasalat (Karwa), in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, has launched the Back to School campaign for the new academic year 2024-2025 under the slogan “My School is My Second Home.” Mowasalat (Karwa) has deployed about 3,000 eco-friendly school buses equipped with latest safety and security technology to ferry the students for the new academic year 2024-25.

The newspaper concluded its editorial by pointing out that on the eve of new academic yea
r, Qatar Railways Company (Qatar Rail), in collaboration with a group of leading school supplies providers in Qatar, also launched the Back to School event at Sport City Station in Doha Metro, from August 25 to September 3, 2024.
