Amman: Airport International Group announced that Queen Alia International Airport (QAIA) received 726,635 passengers (PAX) in February, marking the highest February passenger traffic in the airport’s history. This figure represents a 7.4% increase compared to the same month in 2024.
According to Jordan News Agency, QAIA also recorded 5,724 aircraft movements (ACM), which is a 6.1% increase, while handling 5,029 tons of cargo, a decrease of 23.5% compared to the same period last year. For year-to-date statistics, the airport registered a 10.2% rise in passengers, reaching 1,511,627 PAX compared to the corresponding period in 2024. QAIA also reported 11,785 ACM, an increase of 5.6%, and handled 9,970 tons of cargo, down 23.2% against the same period last year.
In a press statement, Airport International Group CEO Nicolas Deviller emphasized that the record for February passenger traffic reflects the trust and confidence of passengers globally who choose QAIA as their gateway. He highlighted the recent addition of Libyan Wings to the airline network, which enhances the airport’s connectivity. Deviller expressed pride in the sustained growth in both PAX and ACM figures, reinforcing QAIA’s role as Jordan’s prime gateway to the world. He also noted the airport’s recognition as the ‘Most Enjoyable Airport in the Middle East’ by Airports Council International World for the second time, underscoring QAIA’s commitment to providing world-class services and a seamless travel experience.
