Amman: The Public Security Directorate’s (PSD) Residence and Borders Department has issued a call for foreign visitors in the Kingdom to renew their residence permits according to legally defined periods, warning of fines for non-compliance.
According to Jordan News Agency, under a recently-passed amendment to the residency and foreigners affairs law, visitors who entered the Kingdom legally but failed to obtain a temporary residence permit, overstayed their visit, or did not apply for the renewal of their annual residency permit within one month of its expiration date, will face fines. The penalty stipulated is JD90 for each month or three dinars per day of non-compliance.
The PSD emphasized the importance of rectifying legal status to avoid any potential legal action.
