Amman: Prime Minister Dr. Jaafar Hassan met with Palestinian Prime Minister Dr. Mohammad Mustafa at the Prime Ministry, affirming the strong Jordanian-Palestinian relations and the significant attention from His Majesty King Abdullah II.
According to Jordan News Agency, PM Hassan emphasized Jordan’s unwavering commitment to supporting the Palestinian people’s aspirations to end occupation and establish an independent state. He highlighted the special place Palestine holds for Jordanians and the efforts of His Majesty in defending Palestinian rights in international forums.
The discussions included building on international recognition of the State of Palestine and cooperating with Washington to support a ceasefire in Gaza. This effort aims to ensure security for Palestinians and create conditions for a political process based on a two-state solution.
PM Hassan reiterated Jordan’s commitment to providing humanitarian aid to Gaza and supporting Palestinian reform efforts. Jordan’s rejection of Israeli aggression and commitment to safeguarding Jerusalem’s holy sites were also underscored.
The meeting explored enhancing economic cooperation, particularly in trade, agriculture, and energy. Joint committees and business forums were proposed to strengthen cooperation and empower Palestinians economically.
Palestinian PM Mustafa expressed appreciation for Jordan’s support and provided updates on the Palestinian territories, ceasefire efforts in Gaza, and challenges faced due to Israeli actions. The meeting included key ministers from both sides, reflecting the depth of their bilateral relations.
