Northern Jordan Records Highest Rainfall in 24 Hours

Amman: The highest rainfall in the last 24 hours was in northern Jordan, with the Ajloun weather station recording 41.3 mm, followed by Irbid with 18 mm, as reported by the Meteorology Department.

According to Jordan News Agency, the Wadi Al-Rayan weather station recorded 13.1 mm, while the Karak station in the south of the Kingdom reported 11.7 mm. Abdul-Moneim Al-Qaraleh, the acting director of the department, indicated in an interview with Petra that recent radar images showed heavy rainfall in the north. He advised residents to take necessary precautions and avoid low-lying and flood-prone areas.

The department has issued warnings about zero horizontal visibility in hilly areas and parts of the plains due to fog. There are also concerns about flash floods in valleys and the Dead Sea region, reduced visibility due to dust in desert areas, and slippery roads in areas experiencing rainfall.
