New Settlement Outpost Established Near Nablus in Occupied West Bank

Nablus: Israel announced on Wednesday the establishment of a new settlement outpost near the city of Nablus, located in the north of the occupied West Bank. The outpost, named Mount Ebal, was set up overnight in an operation described by Israeli media as "complex and secretive," as part of a strategy to increase the number of Jewish settlers in the area.

According to Jordan News Agency, the Hebrew-language newspaper Israel Hayom reported that the operation involved dozens of trucks bringing in prefabricated housing units, which were installed at the site. Access roads were also constructed to connect the outpost with existing infrastructure. Mount Ebal is one of 22 settlements previously approved by the Israeli government, aimed at boosting settler presence and altering the demographic balance in the northern West Bank.

In addition to the establishment of the Mount Ebal outpost, the Israeli occupation army conducted widespread search-and-arrest raids across Palestinian towns, villages, and occupied Jerusalem. Around 50 individuals described as "wanted" were detained during these operations.
