Amman: The Syndicate of Agricultural Materials Traders and Producers in Jordan (AMATPA) and the Agricultural Entrepreneurship and Agri-Innovation Association have signed a memorandum of cooperation (MoU) to expand joint collaboration in agricultural entrepreneurship, innovation, and digital transformation. This agreement is a step towards supporting innovation and promoting sustainable development within the country's agricultural sector.
According to Jordan News Agency, the MoU was signed by AMATPA head Saleh Yassin and the association's chairman, Dr. Imad Ayasrah, underscoring the importance of integrating efforts among professional institutions. This collaboration aims to build an advanced agricultural system to address challenges such as climate change, market fluctuations, and food security.
The memorandum emphasizes the implementation of a comprehensive set of programs and initiatives to support and empower entrepreneurs and young professionals in agriculture. It seeks to foster an environment conducive to innovative ideas and entrepreneurial ventures, promoting self-employment and creating job opportunities with added value in the agricultural sector.
As part of the agreement, specialized events such as agricultural forums, training workshops, and programs will be organized. These initiatives are aimed at enhancing the efficiency of workers in the sector by equipping them with modern skills related to agricultural technology, digital transformation, value chains, and marketing.
Both parties have advocated for the exchange of expertise, knowledge, and technical resources to improve institutional efficiency and services offered to farmers and entrepreneurs. They have also called for support of initiatives that utilize natural resources sustainably, contributing to environmental and economic sustainability.
