Moderate, humid weather expected this weekend

Temperatures on Thursday will slightly drop below annual average bringing moderate and humid weather conditions almost countrywide, with clouds at different altitudes and a chance for scattered showers in the northern region, the Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD) said in its daily update.

Meanwhile, relatively hot conditions will continue to prevail in the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea and Aqaba, with northwesterly moderate to brisk winds.

The JMD warns of the danger of fog formation over the highlands in the early morning hours, slippery roads in in areas expecting showers, and the possibility of low horizontal visibility due to dust in the Badia areas.

Similar weather conditions will persist on Friday, while Saturday will witness a few-degrees increase in mercury levels. Clouds will also appear at low altitudes and winds will stay northwesterly moderate.

Today, temperatures in Amman will hover around 27 Celsius degrees, dropping to 16C at night, while the Gulf of Aqaba will see a blistering 36C, dipping into 25C during night hours.
