Mercedes-Benz Reports 6% Rise in Sales in Second Quarter of 2023

German automaker Mercedes-Benz reported a 6% year-on-year rise in sales in the second quarter of 2023.

The Stuttgart-based company announced that its business had rebounded sharply, especially in the local market, with sales reaching 515,700 cars.

58600 cars were sold in Germany during the second quarter of the year, an increase of 23%, and the company sold a total of 157,100 cars on the European market.

The Asian market maintained the largest percentage of sales, with the company's sales there amounting to 239,200 cars, most of which were sold in China with 183,600 cars.

Sales rose 3% in the North American market, with 98,800 cars sold.

Mercedes has seen a particularly strong boost with its purely electric vehicles, with sales rising by 123% to 56,300.

In the first six months of 2023, Mercedes-Benz Cars sold 102,600 BEVs worldwide (+121 per cent). With total sales of 1.02 million vehicles, the electric vehicle share in the first half of the year is an even ten per cent.
