Irbid: Minister of Local Administration Walid Masri affirmed on Monday that volunteer work is a fundamental pillar in building societies and enhancing the role of individuals in national development. Speaking at a graduation ceremony for beneficiaries of the "Rakiza" training and rehabilitation programs, implemented by the Al-Farouq Society for Orphan Care in Irbid, Masri emphasized the importance of supporting community initiatives and expanding their reach across the kingdom's governorates.
According to Jordan News Agency, Masri noted that the society has undergone a qualitative transformation in recent years, shifting from traditional charitable aid to specialized fields, including education, vocational training, and healthcare. He described the organization's focus on individual empowerment and capacity building as an advanced model for institutional community work.
The minister added that the society's expansion throughout the Irbid governorate has strengthened its developmental role and its ability to serve a broad segment of society. He further stated that volunteerism is an essential global metric for evaluating individual contribution, calling for a deeper culture of service and wider community participation.
Masri highlighted the strategic partnership between municipalities and civil society organizations. He characterized municipalities as primary developmental units that play a pivotal role in supporting associations by providing necessary infrastructure and facilities.
Society President Hussein Al-Hawari said the organization remains committed to empowering orphans and youth by equipping them for the labor market through vocational and technical training. He noted that the graduation of the latest cohort is a testament to the success of the association's human-centric investment approach.
The ceremony included a documentary film showcasing the association's achievements and a performance by students from the Al-Farouq School. It concluded with the minister honoring the graduates and the program's supporters.
