Kuwait city: The Kuwaiti Ministry of Defense announced that its air defense systems detected a total of 17 ballistic missiles and 13 hostile drones within the country's airspace over the past 24 hours.
According to Jordan News Agency, the ministry's official spokesperson, Colonel Saud Al-Atwan, reported during a media briefing that 13 of the missiles were successfully intercepted and destroyed, while four missiles fell outside the designated threat zone, posing no immediate danger. Al-Atwan further explained that while the interception operations were largely successful, debris from the destroyed missiles fell in several areas, resulting in limited material damage. Some homes in scattered residential zones experienced damage, and there was also a disruption to some overhead electricity transmission lines. Fortunately, there were no reports of human casualties.
In addition to the missile threats, Al-Atwan stated that 10 drones were destroyed by the defense systems. The remaining three drones fell outside the threat zone and did not pose any risk to the public or infrastructure.
