Zaatari: King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre (KSrelief), in collaboration with the Jordan Hashemite Charity Organization (JHCO), continues to operate its clinics in the Zaatari refugee camp. This initiative is part of a health intervention aimed at enhancing the health of refugees through the provision of primary and secondary healthcare services that adhere to both local and international health standards.
According to Jordan News Agency, a statement issued by JHCO on Sunday emphasizes the ongoing humanitarian partnership between the two organizations. This collaboration is a response to the increasing health needs within the camp. The project caters to all demographic groups, including men, women, children, and youth, through an integrated medical system that operates throughout the week.
Additionally, the initiative includes a variety of specialized medical clinics and provides essential vaccinations for children and women of reproductive age. It offers supportive medical services designed for accurate diagnosis and effective treatment, utilizing a fully equipped medical laboratory and advanced imaging equipment like X-rays and ultrasound imaging.
The JHCO statement noted that these services are delivered under the supervision of qualified medical staff and a diagnostic radiologist. The project also includes a central pharmacy that ensures a continuous supply of necessary medications for patients with various illnesses.
Special attention is given to chronic disease patients, with the project offering ongoing treatment and follow-up services to more than 1,300 patients, which accounts for over 45% of the chronic illness cases in the camp. All services are provided by licensed medical teams in coordination with the Jordanian Ministry of Health, the UNHCR, and other health authorities within the camp, maintaining cooperation with KSrelief.
Since its inception at the beginning of the Syrian crisis in 2011, the clinics have played a crucial role in addressing healthcare deficiencies within the camp. This effort has facilitated equitable access to specialized medical services and improved the quality of life for Syrian refugees through a sustainable and integrated humanitarian approach.
