Doha: Jordanian politicians have hailed His Majesty King Abdullah II’s recent address in Doha, emphasizing the need for a unified Arab and Islamic response to the extremist actions of the Israeli government. The King called for a clear, decisive, and deterrent approach, highlighting the violation of international laws and norms concerning human rights by the Israeli administration.
According to Jordan News Agency, the politicians underscored the significance of King Abdullah’s speech, describing it as both politically profound and constructive. The address combined solidarity with Qatar and a firm defense of Palestine. Former Justice Minister Ibrahim Al-Amoush remarked that the King’s statements during the emergency summit in Doha were forthright and resolute. He stressed the necessity for solutions that are precise and direct, urging pressure on international decision-making bodies and the activation of international law to halt Israel’s violations.
Al-Amoush further noted the King’s longstanding efforts to achieve a two-state solution and regional peace while ensuring justice for Palestinians. He criticized the extremist Israeli government’s disregard for human life and called for a decisive response from regional countries to make Israel reconsider its actions.
Former Government Communication Minister Muhannad Mubaidin affirmed that the King’s remarks underscored the need for collective decisions to deter the Israeli government, suggesting that military confrontation is not the only option. He highlighted the array of choices available to countries present at the Doha summit to hold the Israeli government accountable.
Hassan Dajah, a Professor of Strategic Studies at Al-Hussein Bin Talal University, praised the King’s speech for its clarity and boldness. He noted that the King emphasized solidarity with Qatar, recognizing its security as integral to regional stability. Dajah stressed the importance of a collective security approach and the development of practical mechanisms to counter the extremist Israeli government.
Dajah concluded by noting that King Abdullah II’s speech offered a balanced political document, linking solidarity with Qatar, defense of Palestine, and the need for collective action. It was seen as providing a framework for joint Arab-Islamic efforts to address regional challenges effectively.
