Amman: His Majesty King Abdullah II on Tuesday met with Egypt Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly, who led his country’s delegation to the Jordanian-Egyptian Joint Higher Committee meetings in Amman. The meeting took place at Al Husseiniya Palace and was attended by His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II and Prime Minister Jafar Hassan.
According to Jordan News Agency, King Abdullah emphasized the necessity of maintaining strong coordination and cooperation between Jordan and Egypt, especially in the economic sector, to achieve mutual objectives. The King also addressed regional issues, highlighting the urgent need to halt the war on Gaza and ensure the consistent delivery of humanitarian aid throughout the Strip.
Additionally, His Majesty commended Egypt’s efforts, guided by President Abdel Fattah Al Sisi, to support Palestinians. He expressed concern over Israel’s security Cabinet’s plan to strengthen its occupation of Gaza and expand military control, underscoring Jordan’s opposition to any actions that could displace Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank or result in land annexation.
The meeting was also attended by Alaa Batayneh, Director of the Office of His Majesty.
