Jakarta: His Majesty King Abdullah II on Saturday emphasized the significance of leveraging Indonesia’s sovereign wealth fund, Danantara, to enhance Jordan’s government investments. During a meeting in Jakarta with representatives of Danantara Indonesia, which was attended by Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto, King Abdullah underscored the importance of creating economic and investment partnerships with the fund. These partnerships align with Jordan’s Economic Modernisation Vision, particularly focusing on economic growth and job creation.
According to Jordan News Agency, the King encouraged building upon the robust bilateral relations between Jordan and Indonesia, aiming to develop sustainable cooperation mechanisms. These efforts are intended to open new investment avenues, serve mutual interests, and add value to both the Jordanian and Indonesian economies. Danantara CEO Rosan Roeslani discussed the fund’s initiatives and shared insights into Indonesia’s approach to structuring government companies an
d sovereign wealth funds.
Investment Minister Tareq Abu Ghazaleh highlighted Jordan’s investment opportunities, particularly in energy, transportation, and logistics. The meeting focused on governance and strategic investment management, considering the transfer of these experiences to Jordan. This initiative aims to exchange expertise, support national strategies, and maximize the impact of megaprojects.
His Royal Highness Prince Ghazi bin Muhammad, His Majesty’s chief adviser for religious and cultural affairs and personal envoy, participated in the meeting. Discussions included activating joint action through technical committees to facilitate knowledge exchange and establish practical partnerships between Jordanian and Indonesian institutions.
An agreement was reached for an Indonesian team to visit Jordan soon. The team will conduct a comprehensive study and engage in detailed discussions on investment opportunities, reviewing prospects for cooperation and megaprojects. Director of the Office of His M
