Khasawneh visits Balqa to hear public demands

Prime Minister Bishr Khasawneh Wednesday visited the Balqa governorate to meet with local communities and dignitaries to know their demands and concerns.

Khasawhneh, accompanied by a ministerial team, is implementing the directives of His Majesty King Abdullah II as part of a national programme to visit the governorates and witness firsthand the needs of Jordanians to address them and improve their lives.

“We were honoured, accompanied by His Majesty the King and His Royal Highness the Crown Prince, to visit al-Balqa Governorate last week. His Majesty directed us to meet with notables and people of the governorate to listen to the most prominent demands and needs and to do together whatever we can which will contribute to promoting development in the governorate,” Khasawneh said.

The Prime Minister announced the allocation of JOD1 million to the Greater Salt Municipality to enhance the heritage value of the city of Salt after it made the World Heritage List.

He said the government is allocating JOD1 million to support the other municipalities of al-Balqa to establish productive projects.

He directed the Ministry of Public Works and Housing to implement the alternative road to the al-Ardah – Al-Aghwar Road, which is being rehabilitated. The alternative route will be from Hamra al-Sahn to Deir Alla at JOD1.5 million.

Khasawneh directed the Ministry of Health (MoH) to discuss with the Royal Medical Services to study the possibility of turning the public Salt Hospital into a military hospital and provide the necessary financial allocations within two years.

During the meeting, which took place in Balqa Hall, Khasawneh offered his condolences on the death of Jordanians after their residential building collapsed in the Weibdeh neighbourhood Tuesday, wishing a speedy recovery for the injured.
