Karak: The Greater Karak Municipality on Wednesday received two waste collection trucks under the Japanese Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects (GGP) program. Head of the Karak Municipal Committee Mohammad Manaseer stated that the trucks were acquired through a Japanese grant valued at $122,881, after completing all necessary administrative and technical procedures. He emphasized the municipality's focus on turning international grants and support into practical service projects for the residents' benefit.
According to Jordan News Agency, Manaseer expressed gratitude to the Japanese Embassy, highlighting the municipality's pride in the ongoing partnership between the two parties. Japanese Ambassador to Jordan Asari Hideki remarked that the grant aids in creating a better future for the local community in Karak and supports the provision of a healthier environment.
Japan has supplied over $10.5 million in funding for 160 projects aiding non-governmental organizations, schools, hospitals, and municipalities throughout Jordan since 1993 through the GGP program.
