KAFD opens registration for 4th round of community entrepreneurship challenge

The King Abdullah II Fund for Development (KAFD) on Tuesday said it is receiving applications for the fourth round of its Community Entrepreneurship Challenge project. In a press statement, the KAFD said that the project comes in line with His Majesty King Abdullah II’s vision of youth being the main drivers of change and commitment to leveraging their productive capabilities in finding solutions to the challenges facing their local communities by developing their talents and encouraging them to lead and innovate. The statement indicated that the base of the target groups has been expanded according to the development plan of the project by raising the age of the applicant for the individuals and groups category from 22-35 years old to 22-40 years old, in addition to including civil society institutions among the sectors that are able to apply. The project, the statement added, aims to support young people and help them implement new entrepreneurial projects, or develop their existing projects, improve their quality, and enhance their impact on local communities, in addition to promoting positive competition and spreading the culture of taking initiative giving back, and active citizenship among youth. The fund called on those wishing to apply to fill out an application through the registration platform (www.join.kafd.jo) between the period from April 18 to May 15 under the specified conditions and criteria. The selected projects will receive technical support in the form of a training program aimed at developing the idea of the project and financial support of no more than JD5,000 for individuals and groups, while civil society organizations will receive JD10,000 to JD15,000. According to the fund, a neutral and specialized technical committee of experts will review and study the submitted applications, evaluate them and select qualified projects.
