KACE launches innovation program to develop government leaders

The King Abdullah II Center for Excellence (KACE) on Saturday launched the first program of its kind in Jordan, entitled “Certified Innovation Manager for Government Leaders,” with the support of the Ministry of Planning and Cooperation International.

The four-day program aims to create an organizational culture of innovation in Jordan’s public sector by developing entrepreneurial leaders to manage creativity within government institutions, to be implemented through innovative practices, projects and strategic partnerships, according to a KACE statement.

The event also aims to develop government leaders’ skills in producing innovative ideas and the related tools necessary to pick the most appropriate models for implementation, according to the workplace circumstances, the statement added.

Speaking at the inaugural ceremony, KACE Executive Director, Dr. Ibrahim Rawabdeh, said innovation management has become an “urgent” necessity, in light of a rapidly changing work environment that requires a fresh set of practices to become a key driver for creating new work value in the government institutions’ administrative atmosphere.

The program, he noted, includes a series of workshops based on a “well-studied” methodology, focusing on identifying innovative work models aimed to carry out the best ideas.
