Amman: The Ministry of Foreign and Expatriate Affairs announced the election of Jordan’s nominee, Judge Mansour Tawalbeh, to the Independent Permanent Human Rights Commission (IPHRC) of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC). The election took place during the 51st session of the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers.
According to Jordan News Agency, the Ministry’s Spokesperson, Sufyan Qudah, highlighted Tawalbeh’s election as evidence of Jordan’s significant role in promoting public freedoms and human rights. He emphasized the importance of the IPHRC in enhancing the human rights framework within OIC member states and in reinforcing mechanisms for the protection and promotion of human rights throughout the Islamic world.
