Jordan’s GDP grows 3.2pct in Q2 of 2021

Jordan’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) at constant market prices grew by 3.2 percent in the second quarter of 2021, compared to the figure reported in the same period of 2020.

In a quarterly statistical report released Sunday, the Department of Statistics (DoS) said that the increase was driven by broad growth seen across the various sectors of the economy.

It indicated that the construction sector expanded by 5.7 percent in the reporting period, followed by the extractive industries 5.4 percent, the transportation, storage and communications sector 4.3 percent, the manufacturing sector 3.9 percent, wholesale and retail trade and the hospitality sector 3.8 percent.
