Jordan’s Anti-Narcotics Department Hosts Workshop to Tackle Drug Challenges

Amman: The Anti-Narcotics Department (AND) organized a workshop on Wednesday, focusing on “Awareness, Treatment, and Community Support for an Addiction-Free Future,” at its headquarters. This event marks a strategic step in the department’s ongoing efforts to shield society from the dangers of narcotics.

According to Jordan News Agency, the workshop saw active participation from youth, particularly those involved in community initiatives, alongside representatives from both governmental and private institutions. The attendees delved into critical issues aimed at combating drug-related challenges, focusing on the psychological, health, and social impacts of drug use, safe treatment mechanisms, legal challenges, and misconceptions surrounding the recovery process.

This initiative is part of a comprehensive vision adopted by the Public Security Directorate (PSD), with the goal of raising community awareness and empowering the youth to take a significant role in the fight against drugs. The workshop emphasized the importance of youth engagement in addressing these challenges, highlighting their potential to contribute to a drug-free future.
