Jordanian Researcher Yaghi Wins 2025 Nobel Prize in Chemistry

Stockholm: Jordanian scientist Omar Yaghi was awarded the 2025 Nobel Prize in Chemistry on Wednesday for his work in developing metal-organic frameworks (MOFs).

According to Jordan News Agency, the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences announced on its official page on the X platform that this year’s award was jointly granted to Yaghi, Susumu Kitagawa, and Richard Robson. Their development of revolutionary materials known as MOFs has transformed the fields of chemistry and advanced materials. The winners for this year will share a total prize of 11 million Swedish krona.

The Nobel Prize in Chemistry is one of the world’s most prestigious scientific awards, dating back nearly a century, in addition to the global recognition it receives.
