Amman: Minister of Government Communication, Mohammad Momani, praised the role of media professionals in conveying a true picture of Jordan, highlighting their contributions to national discourse.
According to Jordan News Agency, speaking at an Iftar banquet hosted by the ministry to honor nine former information ministers, Momani, who is also the government spokesperson, commended past and present media leaders, including chairpersons, directors, and editors-in-chief of major outlets, as well as the head of the Jordanian Press Association.
Momani emphasized that these veteran media figures had played a crucial role in defending Jordan’s policies and positions, often under challenging circumstances. He acknowledged their continued influence through published articles, public commentary, and consultations, noting that their insights help shape national discussions and policy directions.
“Each of you, whether as a minister or in other media roles, has had a visible impact in serving this country. Your work has strengthened trust in state institutions and upheld Jordanian values of moderation, objectivity, and rational discourse,” he said.
Momani stressed that in an era of rapid digital media evolution, the challenge remains to maintain a credible and professional media message that not only delivers news but also fosters awareness, trust, and resilience against misinformation.
Former Minister of Information Jawad Anani, speaking on behalf of the honorees, expressed gratitude for the recognition, describing the event as a meaningful bridge between different generations of Jordanian media professionals.
