Jordan Joins Emergency Arab League Meeting on Gaza

Amman: Jordan, represented by its Ambassador to Egypt and Permanent Representative to the Arab League, Amjad Adaileh, participated on Wednesday in an emergency meeting of the Arab League Council at the permanent representatives’ level. The session, chaired by Yemen, was convened at Palestine’s request and backed by Arab states.

According to Jordan News Agency, the meeting addressed the escalating situation in the Palestinian territories, particularly the resumption of Israel’s military assault on Gaza. Participants condemned the direct bombing of densely populated civilian areas amid an unprecedented humanitarian catastrophe caused by the ongoing siege and widespread destruction. The assault has led to the total collapse of infrastructure and severe shortages of food, medicine, and water, all while the international community remains largely silent.

The council called for urgent action to halt the aggression, provide immediate protection for Palestinian civilians, lift the blockade on Gaza, and work toward ending the Israeli occupation.

It also stressed the need to uphold the Palestinian people’s right to self-determination and statehood, urging swift measures to stop the massacres and ensure accountability for those responsible before international courts.
