Jordan sees 10 COVID-19 fatalities, 500 new cases on Sunday-MoH

The Ministry of Health announced 10 Covid-19 fatalities and 500 new cases were recorded in the Kingdom on Sunday, bringing the death toll to 9, 592 and the caseload to 743, 331.

There are currently 7, 520 active COVID-19 cases in Jordan, announced the media statement issued by the Prime Ministry and the Ministry of Health.

The statement added that the number of hospitalizations today stood at 72, while 52 patients have recovered and discharged, the statement noted.

According to the briefing, the total number of recoveries recorded on Sunday, whether at hospitals or at home, stood at 723, bringing the total to 726,219 since the outbreak began.

Moreover, the number of Covid-19 patients still receiving treatment at hospitals countrywide has reached 505.

The statement also indicated that occupancy of the ICU bed capacity has hit 16%, 27%, and 8%, in the northern, central, and southern regions, respectively.

With regard to testing, 18,617 tests were conducted Sunday, 1.90 percent of which were positive.

Since March, 2020, the total number of tests administered has increased to 7,543,911, the joint statement noted.

The statement added that 1,922,977 people received the first Covid-19 vaccine dose countrywide, while the tally of 2nd jab recipients hit 678, 847, noting 2,866, 380 people have so far registered on the gov’t platform designed to arrange schedule of vaccine rollout.
