Jordan presides over Council of Arab Transport Ministers 34th session

The Arab League on Monday held a meeting of the Executive Office of the Council of Arab Transport Ministers in the 67th session at the headquarters of the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States, in preparation for the 34th session of the Council of Arab Transport Ministers scheduled for Wednesday.

During the meeting, the presidency of the previous 33rd session of the Council was handed over from the Republic of Yemen, represented by the Minister of Transport of the Republic of Yemen, Abdul Salam Saleh Hamid Hadi, to the Minister of Transport of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, the President of the 34th session, Wajih Azaizeh, of the Council of Arab Transport Ministers.

The agenda of the session included a number of topics related to the Arab transport sector, including supporting the Palestinian economy in light of the Israeli attacks.

Ways of financing a comprehensive feasibility study for a project to establish an Arab mechanism and a database to support the shipbuilding and repair industry in Arab countries were also discussed, given the expected economic returns of this industry.
