Jordan Motorsport Issues Regulations for Jordan Baja Local Rally

Amman: Jordan Motorsport has issued the regulations for the Jordan Baja Local Rally scheduled for April 10-12, which will run alongside several prestigious international events including the second round of the FIA World Cup and Middle East Cross-Country Bajas.

According to Jordan News Agency, the event will also feature the third round of the FIM World Cup for motorcycles and quads, as well as the second round of the FIM Asia Cup for motorcycles and quads, which makes its debut in Jordan this year.

Southern Jordan will host the competition, with the action starting from Aqaba and extending through the spectacular landscape of Wadi Rum.

The rally has garnered significant regional interest, with its diverse desert terrain and stunning natural vistas adding an extra dimension of excitement to the competition.

Registration for the local event is now open and will close on Wednesday, April 2, with the official list of participants to be announced that Friday.

The ceremonial start will take place at 1:50 PM on Thursday, April 10, at Aqaba’s Southern Beach area, followed by the official opening ceremony at 5:15 PM at Arab Revolution Square in Aqaba.

For the first time, The Westin Saraya Aqaba Resort and Spa will serve as the headquarters for the organizing committee.

Previous winners of the Jordan Baja Local Rally include Jordanian driver Hamza Taymour with co-driver Adrian Piatek, who claimed victory in 2019 driving a Land Rover Defender.

Saudi driver Hamad Al-Harbi with co-driver Waleed Al-Shaqawi won the 2021 edition in a Yamaha YXZ1000-T4, while another Saudi competitor, Al-Mushanna Al-Shammari with co-driver Hani Al-Shammari, took the 2022 title in a Nissan Patrol.

The most recent edition in 2024 saw Palestinian driver Taha Masoud with co-driver Imran Taha secure first place in a Can-Am Maverick, with compatriots Mohammed Al-Sane and Fadi Al-Sane claiming second place, also in a Can-Am Maverick.
