Jordan, Germany talk research cooperation for water sector

The Royal Scientific Society (RSS) and the Princess Sumaya University for Technology (PSUT) discussed with the German Research Foundation (DFG) prospects of scientific and research cooperation in the water sector.

 

Discussions, held within the framework of the DFG Water Nexus Research initiative, took place during a DFG delegation visit to the RSS and the PSUT. The delegation included 22 researchers, professors, and representatives from the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD).

 

In a statement on Wednesday, Vice President for Academic Affairs at the PSUT Wejdan Abu Elhaija pointed to the university’s programs, activities, global rankings, partnerships with international and educational institutions, and projects conducted with German universities in the past two decades, stressing needs to form research teams to address water challenges.

 

For his part, Vice President of the RSS Tareq Hasan presented a demo of the society and its research in the water, environment, and energy sectors.

 

During a seminar, participants tackled water difficulties in the Kingdom and their social and geopolitical aspects, in addition to research projects and technological solutions in this regard.
