Jordan Delivers Aid to 1.5M+ Gazans Amidst War, Despite Obstacles

Amman: Under Royal directives, Jordan continues to exert every effort to support Gazans facing a catastrophic humanitarian crisis fueled by ongoing Israeli aggression. Despite significant hurdles, including crossing closures and a month-long halt to land aid convoys, Jordan has persisted in delivering essential support.

According to Jordan News Agency, the Jordan Hashemite Charity Organization (JHCO) has adopted alternative strategies, partnering with local Gazan organizations to ensure continuous humanitarian assistance to affected families. Jordan remains committed to reopening crossings and facilitating aid delivery through diplomatic pressure and international engagement, recognizing the dire need for food, medicine, and basic supplies.

During Eid al-Fitr, the JHCO launched humanitarian initiatives targeting Gaza’s vulnerable families. These efforts included distributing Eid clothing for children, holiday sweets, cash gifts, and Zakat al-Fitr payments to over 4,300 families, in collaboration with local partners, to bring relief and joy during the holiday.

“Despite the severe challenges and convoy disruptions, our commitment to Gazans remains unwavering,” said Hussein Shibli, JHCO Secretary-General. “We’ve reached over 1,566,144 beneficiaries within the Strip.”

“We’re exploring every possible avenue to deliver aid, guided by King Abdullah II’s directives and Jordan’s steadfast support for Palestinians,” he added. “During the crossing closures, we distributed over 220,000 meals, and provided clean water and Eid necessities to numerous families.”

These ongoing efforts underscore Jordan’s unwavering humanitarian and ethical stance, reflecting the deep-rooted bond between Jordanians and Palestinians, and affirming Jordan’s long-term commitment to Gaza until the crisis subsides and normalcy returns.
