Jordan Customs Directorate Thwarts Three Major Drug Smuggling Attempts in 48 Hours

Amman: The Jordan Customs Anti-Smuggling Directorate successfully intercepted three significant drug smuggling operations within a span of 48 hours, as part of its ongoing efforts to curb smuggling activities that threaten both society and the national economy.

According to Jordan News Agency, the Northern Military Zone patrols apprehended a vehicle carrying 80,000 Captagon pills. The vehicle was seized and the case has been forwarded to the relevant authorities for further legal proceedings. This was part of a broader crackdown aimed at safeguarding the community and financial stability.

In another operation, the Southern Military Zone patrols engaged in a high-speed chase, resulting in the seizure of 29,000 Captagon pills. Additionally, two kilograms of marijuana were confiscated after an intelligence-driven operation conducted in collaboration with security agencies.

The Customs Department emphasized its commitment to its national duty, working closely with security agencies to shield the national economy and community from the dangers posed by drugs.
