Amman: The Ministry of Foreign and Expatriates Affairs on Tuesday condemned the Republic of Nauru's opening of an embassy in Jerusalem, describing the move as unacceptable and a blatant violation of international law and international legitimacy resolutions.
According to Jordan News Agency, Ministry spokesperson Ambassador Fouad Al-Majali emphasized that any measures or decisions aimed at altering the status of Jerusalem or its legal standing are considered null and void, illegitimate, and unlawful.
Al-Majali reiterated that the only viable path to achieving a just and comprehensive peace that ensures security and stability in the region is through the establishment of an independent and sovereign Palestinian state along the June 4, 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
