Amman: The nation marks the birthday of His Majesty King Abdullah II Ibn Al Hussein, the Supreme Commander of the Jordan Armed Forces, celebrating his noble leadership and dedication to Jordan's national journey. He has consistently prioritized the country's elevation, progress, prosperity, and stability, leading with Hashemite values and fostering a sense of pride and reassurance across the nation.

According to Jordan News Agency, His Majesty King Abdullah II was born in Amman on January 30, 1962, as the eldest son of the late King Hussein bin Talal and Princess Muna Al Hussein. His education journey took him from the Islamic Educational College in Amman to Deerfield Academy in the United States, and later to the University of Oxford and Georgetown University's School of Foreign Service. His military education at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst paved the way for a distinguished career in the Jordan Armed Forces, where he rose to the rank of major general and reorganized the Royal Special Forces to meet international standards.

His Majesty married Queen Rania Al Abdullah on June 10, 1993, and they have two sons and two daughters. Despite limited resources, Jordan continues to serve as a refuge for millions of displaced individuals, maintaining its legacy of humanitarian aid.

King Abdullah II has worked to strengthen Jordan's international relations, join the World Trade Organization, and establish free trade agreements with multiple countries, including the United States and the European Union. His leadership has also focused on national administrative reform, transparency, accountability, and enhancing civil liberties, positioning Jordan as one of the Middle East's most progressive nations.

A descendant of the Prophet Muhammad, King Abdullah II launched initiatives like the "Amman Message" and "A Common Word" to promote peace and harmony among religions. His efforts have earned him international recognition, including awards like the International Peace of Westphalia Prize and the Templeton Prize.

His Majesty's book, "Our Last Best Chance: The Pursuit of Peace in a Time of Peril," documents his vision for resolving the Arab-Israeli conflict. Under his leadership, the Jordan Armed Forces have advanced technologically and strategically, remaining a robust defense force for the nation.
