Amman: Minister of Youth Raed Adwan and his Syrian counterpart, Minister of Sports and Youth Mohammad Sameh Hamedh, convened to discuss strategies for enhancing collaboration in youth and sports sectors between Jordan and Syria. This meeting, held at the Ministry of Youth, included representatives from both nations, aiming to fortify the bonds between the two countries through shared initiatives.
According to Jordan News Agency, the bilateral talks were also attended by HRH Princess Aisha bint Faisal, Secretary General of the Ministry of Youth Mazen Abu Baker, and various dignitaries including the Charg© d'Affaires of the Syrian Embassy in Amman Ihsan Al-Rumman, UNICEF Representative in Jordan Marc Rubin, and others. Minister Adwan emphasized the historical ties and expressed the Royal commitment to assist Syria in its recovery and institutional rebuilding efforts.
Adwan highlighted the importance of youth empowerment as a strategic goal, aiming to leverage youth capacities for broader cooperation. He shared the Jordanian experience in youth development and expressed optimism that this official visit would pave the way for robust youth and sports cooperation benefiting both nations.
Minister Hamedh acknowledged the significance of understanding Jordan's youth and sports initiatives, expressing gratitude for Jordan's support and the opportunity to foster joint cooperation. He reiterated the value of exchanging expertise and programs to bolster bilateral relations.
Mazen Abu Baker underscored the ministry's dedication to youth empowerment under the guidance of Jordan's leadership, focusing on building capacities and promoting positive societal values. He outlined the ministry's efforts to support youth across various domains, including sports and culture.
The meeting featured a presentation by Jihad Masaadah, Director of Policies and Planning at the Ministry of Youth, showcasing Jordan's initiatives in youth empowerment. Participants also discussed the contributions of organizations like the Jordan Olympic Committee, the Jordan Football Association, Generations for Peace, and UNICEF in advancing youth and sports development, emphasizing the importance of continued collaboration between Jordan and Syria.
